i Get… Cooking Vocabulary and Create Recipe Photo Sequence Books is an application providing photo books for individuals that need support in understanding things relative to the kitchen, including cooking and making recipes.
The vocabulary photo books included are; “Cooking Supplies”, “Cooking Actions” and “Kitchen Appliances” which offer endless teaching opportunities for speech and language development. In addition, a sample recipe book portrays the steps of making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. A blank recipe book is included to create your own recipes. All pages have titles with the flexibility to add your own subtitles. In addition, all photos can be individualized for each picture allowing the app to be used for a variety of purposes, including receptive identification and expressive labeling. Personal photos can be added by the user with a camera ready Apple device or imported from the user’s photo album. Record your own sound for each page on the Page Options screen.
Typically developing young children learning about cooking and individuals with developmental delays, such as PDD-NOS and autism will benefit from this interactive application. Parents, teachers, SLP’s and other support professionals will appreciate the user friendly design.
